Throughout the semester, we’ve covered many concepts while working through themes related to Canadian government and politics. During our time together, especially the last few weeks, we’ve been besieged by worrying news on the pandemic’s development. It’s affected all our lives, some more than others.
With the global challenge we’re facing, we’re seeing Canada’s government – at all levels – responding in various ways to COVID 19.
In thinking about this, you’ll consider how COVID 19 is playing out in the context of Canadian politics. To do this, you’ll draw upon concepts discussed throughout the semester to help make sense of what’s going on.
You’ll provide a discussion, in which you’ll connect your concept to Canadian politics and COVID 19. You’re free to bring in how you’ve been affected too, so long as you’re building on your chosen concept.
As an example, ‘discussion one’ may look at the pandemic and the concept ‘welfare state’ while ‘discussion two’ looks at the pandemic and ‘political parties’. In other words, each discussion draws on a separate concept to explain the relationship between Canadian politics and the pandemic.
Your two concepts can be from any chapter. You may also use news media to enhance your answers. In all cases, be sure to cite your sources using the appropriate citation style.
Finally, for each discussion please clearly define the concept and demonstrate your understanding of the concept in relation to the Canadian politics and the pandemic.
