This assignment is an opportunity to produce and interpret descriptive statistics. The assignment tests your ability in producing “Frequency,” “Measure of Central Tendency” and “Measure of Dispersion for one single variable and interpreting the outputs.
The assignment should be written in an essay style and follow the steps below:
Step 1: Select a single variable from the dataset, identify its measures from the values’ column in the main page of the dataset, introduce the variable and its measures in the beginning of your paper (10%)
Step 2: Declare what concepts the variable measures (5%)
Step 3: Run SPSS for producing Frequency and Measures of Central Tendency and Dispersion;
copy and paste the frequency and statistics outputs in your paper (15%)
Step 4: Analyze the frequency output table. The analysis should include the Frequency, Valid Percent, and Missing Values columns and argue why there is difference between “percent” and “valid percent” in the output (20%)
Step 5: Analyse the statistics output. The analysis should include the mean, median, standard deviation, minimum, and maximum data (35%)
Step 6: In your own words, write a short conclusion on what you learnt from the analysis of the two outputs about Canadians’ response to your variable/question of interest (15%)
