In this core module students will examine policy and provision in respect
of keeping children and young people safe and protected through workbased examples of practice. Students will also develop a knowledge and
understanding of the rights and responsibilities of children, young people
and the family within the legislative framework. The roles of multi-agency
professionals working together for the benefit of children, young people
and their families will be critically analysed.
On successful completion of this module, students will be able to:
LO1 Use a critical reflective approach to the work context to examine
legislation, policy, practice and provision relating to children’s, young
people and family rights.
LO2 Implement and evaluate work-based provision that promotes
children’s and/or young people’s rights to be kept safe and protected
