Write a review of literature on six (6) case histories of slope failures (with emphasis on the cause of failure) and design a ground investigation work for the determination of the key soil strength parameters associated with slope stability using flow chart.

-Assuming different conditions exist for the top clay layer, determine the short term factor of safety of the slope for the different values of undrained cohesion of the clay layer using Bishop’s method and data presented in Figure 1 and Table 1.
-Plot a graph of undrained cohesion of the clay versus factor of safety of the slope and explain the effect of undrained cohesion on FS.
-(iii) Assuming different conditions exist for the bottom sand layer, calculate the short term factor of safety of the slope for each condition using data presented in Figure 1 and Table 2.
-(iv) Explain the effect of the different conditions of the sand layer on the factor of safety of the slope using graphs.
