Globalisation has been shaping international and domestic communities around the world.
Nations, people, cultures, trade, and politics, for example, are seemingly more interconnected.
Yet, recent events, such as global pandemics, trade wars, political tensions, environmental
degradation, natural disasters, and so on, suggest that there is still a long way to go before
globalisation achieves real interconnectedness and interdependence. Discuss how the
theological concepts of solidarity and the common good, supported by other relevant ideas
learnt in CORE1030, can contribute to the realisation of an authentic global family.
